A Serene Luxury Haven in Maun
Nestled along a tranquil stretch of the Thamalakane River in Maun, Grays Eden is Botswana’s first true luxury boutique hotel, a peaceful embrace before or after a journey into the Okavango Delta. Launched in 2024 by Sandrine and Sam Morris, this owner-run retreat is designed to ease guests gently into, or out of, the rhythms of wilderness life.
The property offers twelve individually designed rooms, divided between five luxurious villas and seven charming cottages. The villas, some perched on the riverfront and others overlooking the gardens, feature roll-top baths, walk-in arched showers, fireplaces, and generous verandahs, while the thatched cottages offer cozy interiors with modern bathrooms, colourful finishes, and private outdoor spaces. Light-filled rooms, high ceilings, and tactile finishes create an atmosphere that is both refined and deeply relaxing.
Guests can unwind in the cliff-face swimming pool with sweeping views of the river, or book a private dining experience in the Wine Cave, carved into the rocky embankment. Dining at The Eden Kitchen is a highlight, where chefs craft fresh a la carte dishes from locally sourced ingredients, with flexible meal times and the option of in-room dining. A spa pavilion and in-room treatments, ranging from massages to facials, make Grays Eden a true place of rejuvenation.
Located just ten minutes from Maun Airport, the property offers complimentary transfers, ensuring a seamless transition between travel and relaxation. While Grays Eden does not operate its own safaris, staff can arrange excursions into the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, along with cultural village tours and helicopter flights.
What makes Grays Eden remarkable is its balance of elegance and ease. It is not just a stopover in Maun, but a destination in itself—a place where thoughtful design, fine dining, and warm hospitality come together to frame the perfect beginning or ending to any Botswana safari.
